The Ground Floor comprises entrance Porch; Hall; Snug with wood burning stove and french doors opening to East facing paved sitting area; Double Bedroom, Shower room (electric shower) whb & wc with a small utility space equipped with a washing machine / tumble dryer. There is ample coat hanging & drying space in both the Porch & Hall. The clothes line on the south side of the cottage gives your clothes the best view.
The Family Room (comprising Kitchen / Dining & Sitting) is in the sunny south facing cottage extension over looking the shore. The Kitchen has gas / electric cooker, microwave, fridge and bread-maker. This is the room you will gravitate to and from the Kitchen, double doors lead out onto a small timber deck and down onto the grassed foreshore with ever changing views and light over the water. There is a natural BBQ spot and rocky outcrop for exploring.
The First Floor has two low bedrooms; one with a Scottish double and the other with Twin beds, both simply furnished with metal bed, painted wooden floors and rugs. Upstairs has the Family Bathroom with whb & wc and double ended claw-foot bath, for those relaxing evenings whilst enjoying sea glimpses. The hot water boiler will give one very large and very hot bath, probably worth sharing !
The cottage is designed to be as environmental as possible and has been renovated simply, using and enhancing many existing features including the painted timber linings. To reduce consumption of fossil fuels we have recently installed an electric hot water boiler powered by a 'green' electricity tariff and we intend to install renewable energy solar panels. It is proposed to connect the electric night storage heaters to their own photovoltaic input supply in the near future. But please remember this is Scotland so bring your wooly jumpers for that un-seasonal cool spell !
This is a No Smoking house. Outside you can do as you please.
The Cottage has 2 parking spaces on the end of the old jetty and we would ask all visitors to respect other jetty users accordingly.
The front garden is enclosed providing dog and small child play-space. Sometimes however the deer visit and there has been an odd midge spotted!
