Applecross is less than 2 hours drive from Inverness.
Take the signs to Ullapool and then the turn-off to Loch Carron and on through Kishorn and take the turn-off signed to Applecross. Venture up over the hill road Beallich-Na-Ba (Pass of the Cows) for an exciting drive over some of the most stunning single track scenery in Scotland.
For the faint hearted (or the winter alternative) the coastal road continues round towards Shieldaig and then winds its way south to above the changing shoreline to Applecross; it may be the low level route but the driving is equally exciting!
Once in the township of Applecross, continue south past the Inn and through Milltown, heading up and over the hill take time to enjoy amazing views of Skye, continue down past the School to sea level at Camusterrach. On seeing the water take the first right turn and follow to the road end. Pier Cottage is located on the old jetty.
